Klaus’ energy in the umbrella academy is just the same as Ezra Miller’s chaotic energy irl

Klaus might be a druggie with a potty mouth, dresses like he’s into BDSM and drinks way too much but he is by far the purest person on the show and I love him

Allison very clearly reciprocates Luther’s feelings. She’s the one who set up the greenhouse date to begin with.

Allison is manipulative and used her power to get where she was in her life and career.

In the vocal montage of all the “rumors” she’s told, one of them is “I heard a rumor you love me” and it’s unclear if that is towards her ex-husband or Luther, (I’m inclined towards ex-husband) but either way it’s still fucked up.

She ruined her marriage by using her power on her child and tried to justify it with “any parent in my position would” despite the implications of being able to completely control a child in that way.

Vanya doesn’t trust what Allison says despite Allison seemingly actually caring about her because Vanya knows how Allison uses her power. Vanya lashed out and her and almost killed her because Allison tried to use her power on her.

This is by no means an “I hate Allison Hargreeves” post. She’s one of the most complex characters in the show imo and I love her. But people seem to be giving her such a hard pass just because she knew something was fucked with Leonard like that somehow negates all of the less savory things she’s done.

Allison is extremely flawed. Luther is extremely flawed. They’re all extremely flawed. That’s the point. They all deserve to be treated with more nuance than being reduced to “good” and “bad” and having the way they reacted to Hargreeves abuse reduced essentially down to “good victim” and “bad victim”.

You: Character A is better then Character B because they dealt with their trauma in a way I find more attractive/Sympathetic! (Alternatively: Character A has a much better reason to be traumatized then Character B!)

Me, an intellectual: Even though Character B is my favorite I understand that Character A also went through something bad and although their reactions are wildly different to this trauma I won’t pit them against each other based on this because Trauma is not a competition.

Vanya Hargreeves caused the apocalypse because Ellen Page had to play a straight woman with shitty taste in men

It’s been 12 hours since i finished The Umbrella Academy and i just wanted to say that The Afterlife scene with Klaus and his ‘Father’ is one of the saddest moments of the whole show, Robert Sheehan was phenomenal and deserves a whole award just for this one scene.

The only thing I don’t agree with when it comes to The Umbrella Academy is the fact that Vanya didn’t get hella rich of that book like man, spilling the tea like that - it’s the Umbrella equivalent of a Shane Dawson documentary
